Do your subtenants pay on time?

Subtenant_ar_roots As part of a process improvement program, I recently facilitated a brainstorming with some lease administration experts about why 30% of their subtenants were consistently paying late.  We quickly generated several possible reasons and placed them on a standard fishbone diagram.  Using a pre-defined causal framework, we brainstormed root causes under five categories:  people, materials, methods, environment, and equipment/technology.

The next steps would be to use data to identify the most common controllable causes, then to improve performance on those drivers.  For a large sublease portfolio, this can have a material effect on receivables.
